Allaine Cerwonka holds a PhD in Political Science. She has worked as an academic in the US (University of California, Georgia State University) and in continental Europe at Central European University, where she founded the Science Studies Programme. She has published two books (University of Chicago Press; University of Minnesota Press) as well as articles. She has held grants from the EU Erasmus programme, Mellon Foundation, and Fulbright. She was a senior researcher at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute for Advance Study and post-doc at the University of California Humanities Research Institute. Before joining the Turing, Allaine was Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the University of East London where she oversaw academic programmes, research and student experience. She brings this rich experience in teaching, research and leadership to the Turing where she is leading on University Partnerships and overseeing research facilitation, events/engagement, and training and development.
