CLOUD COMPUTING SUMMIT 2015 – MILAN
Cloud Computing Summit 2015 – Milan

Cloud Computing and its adoption by companies is consolidating itself as a strategic element of digital transformation in many areas, with its ability to generate value, making Information Technology easier and flexible, industrializing delivery processes, but above all by enabling applications and services to customers and internal business, together with new mobile technologies, social and advanced data management.

However, we are entering now a new phase of Cloud Services, where “on the cloud” you can build collaboration platforms and process transformation and create companies with innovative business models such as in the new emerging “Sharing Economy“.

More generally, Cloud Services are the foundation for platforms of business services of productive chains, which innovate themselves through digital ecosystems by new disruptive technologies: companies become “platforms of services” enabled by the Cloud Computing.

This process is possible if Cloud Services are built with infrastructure and technology architectures more and more flexible, high-performance, scalable, robust, secure and are based on technologies “software defined“. They also need to use processes, tools and technologies of Cloud Automation, support PaaS environments that accelerate the development of applications to be made available on the marketplace as components of business services for companies.

The adoption by companies of different types and models of Cloud Computing is increasing. These different models should become more and more interoperable, integrating themselves with new virtualization technologies.

In addition, cloud computing is a highly competitive market; existing Cloud Service Provider are consolidating their market position and new kinds of Cloud Services are being generated. It is therefore necessary that the decision makers pay much more attention to these fast changes of the market.

Cloud Computing is now more and more part of the innovation strategies of companies, enabled directly by the CEO and various Line of Business Managers.
